Adventures in the Desert

I have a week off between semesters and the snow finally melted enough for me to do some off-roading.  I decided to pick a road that I had never been down.  I was rewarded by these beautiful sights.

I saw some elk too, but they weren't as brave as the moose, so I wasn't able to get a good picture of them.

That is so cool Mar! I didn't know moose liked the desert too, I thought they were just mountain critters.

Wow, I had no idea that there are moose there either. Good find, Mar.

moose and sage brush hmmmm... I thought they had a little more gourmet taste but I suppose they needed some "seasoning" for their marsh plants. I've only ever seen moose standing in a lake eating water plants. Nice to know that they are adaptable. Was Katie able to go too?

Katie was at work, but we will probably go on an adventure together later this week. There was actually a lot of grass in the area and there is still plenty of snow in the higher elevations, so there is a good reason for them being where they are. As far as moose eating water plants... I'm not sure if we have any of that around here. Ice and snow, yes; water... maybe.

Hey! "Mar" where on earth do you live? I guess we kind of lost track and it would be nice to know.

Hey Brenda, we are up in Rexburg :) Are you home from your mission yet?

Wait, are you still in Idaho? I guess I just never realized that moosen were natives here. Weird.
