Sally's one year old!
*Prepare yourselves to be bombarded with pictures*
Here are pictures from her birthday when we opened the packages the Grandparents sent
This one squeaks. (thankfully she isn't strong enough to squeeze it yet)
What does this one do?
Oh I see...
We, as a family, didn't really have the time to celebrate on her actual birthday, so today we had a very merry unbirthday for Sal and here are the pictures to prove it.
The cake I made of mini cupcakes (it's supposed to be a flower)
We did presents first and fast. In the "tradition" I was raised with of being too lazy to wrap them (honestly, we would have had to wrap it and then unwrap it ourselves at this point so why not save ourselves the work and the wrapping paper)
Checking each other out
sucess.
Shall we read this book?
Now for the good stuff! But what is it?
After a while of watching her play with it I decided to help her figure out what it was for. I gave her a taste of the frosting and her face lit up as if she were thinking "Who knew that would be so tasty!" I unfortunately didn't get a picture of it because I had frosting fingers. But now she knows how this thing works!
Delish.

I love her satisfied look in the last pic. "Yup, that's cupcakes figured out."
cute girl, cute bear
I'm glad to see she got something with wheels after watching her last weekend. Such a little cutie!
It's great that Sally got to celebrate her first birthday over several days. Savor the celebration, Sally!
This might sound selfish, but I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who didn't have the cake ready on the actual b-day! Granted, I never got around to it later either...::hangs head in shame:: Andrew had a really bad cold then and I nearly had it too. He did get presents then got to meet Santa that night at the ward Christmas Party. So it wasn't too bad. But this year I'm gonna make sure he gets that cake!
Great pictures! Does she light up too when packages arrive? Bennett does, its pretty funny. And interesting take on wrapping presents. What I think is even weirder is "saving the paper." What are the odds those who save actually reuse again? Happy belated birthday Sally!
That bear is totally punching Sally in the face! Don't take that from him, Sal!
Cupcake birthday cakes are a great way to go. And your flower DID look like a flower and was so cute. Think I'll borrow that idea from you for the future.
And congratulations on that new baby!
one is such a fun stage...oh lovely. congratulations on your little one!
