Conundrum

I find myself in a pickle. It is this: My kids are bored with their toys. We are moving in less than two months. We don't want to buy much in the way of toys that we'll have to just put in storage when we go (temporary move for the summer), but if we don't find something to entertain them soon I'm gonna lose it. So I'm wondering if anyone has any good, cheap, ways to entertain kids. Preferably requiring little space, or readily disposable.

Look at my pinterest board, play or make for kids.

Some of these things take your time and your supervision, but you can create something out of cardboard they can play with and throw it away when you move. Have fun.

Make a play space out of an appliance box

Hand them the trash and they will figure something out! My kids recently have fallen in love with the canned food in the pantry (we are likewise packing) which they find stacks and crashes beautifully. Brooms and vaccums are fabulous distractions - as are fly swatters. Homemade playdough is great too. A roll of toliet paper will keep them going for a couple of hours and Danny can think of a days' worth of fun with a simple 3 foot length of rope (only rule is it can't go around necks). Best of all is any time with mommy - and you can sneak attack in some alphabet and phonics into the whole game. Also...don't neglect the library - they have all sorts of story times and activities usually that can get you out of the house and you can dodge the bullet of having to come up with it yourself.

Make a race track for cars or trains out of masking tape, going into various rooms, up the side of the couch, etc. I used to do it all over the floor and they just loved walking on it too. :-) Good luck!
